Two pins on one side restrict all 6 degrees of freedom. On one side, 3 degrees of freedom are restricted, moving along Z, rotating around X, and rotating around Y.
It must be a cylindrical pin and a diamond pin, otherwise it will be over-positioned. The center distance of the two positioning holes has a tolerance (error), which cannot be very consistent with the center distance of the two pins. The diamond-shaped pin is to "get out of the way" of the center distance error and installation interference between the two, and limit the rotation around Z.
The long axis of the diamond pin must be perpendicular to the line connecting the two pin holes. So a cylindrical pin is restricted to move along X, Y.
